Therapist Jobs in NJ | Join Be Seen Therapy in Scotch Plains
Finding the right practice matters as much as finding the right therapist. We built this one for clinicians who believe healing happens in relationship, and we run our team the same way.
So you’ve been doing good clinical work for a while now, maybe in an agency, maybe at another practice, maybe building something on your own, and you’re starting to wonder if there’s a better way to do this job you love without the burnout that seems to come with the territory.
Here’s the thing: there is. And we’re looking for the right person to join us.
At Be Seen Therapy, we’re a private pay group practice in Scotch Plains, NJ built on the belief that real healing happens in the body and in relationship, not just in thought records and homework assignments. We practice somatically, experientially, and relationally, and we’re looking for a licensed therapist in New Jersey who does too.
If you’re searching for therapist jobs in NJ where you can actually practice the way you were trained (or the way you wish you’d been trained), keep reading.
The Quick Version
We're hiring a somatic/experiential therapist for 15-20 hours per week at $80-$108/hour (guaranteed, no insurance wait times). All NJ license levels welcome. Weekly AEDP-informed supervision included. This is not a CBT practice. Evening/weekend availability and at least one in-person day per week in Scotch Plains required. To apply, email admin@beseentherapynj.com with your resume, cover letter, and pre-screening answers.
This Is Not Your Average Therapist Job in New Jersey
Most therapist jobs in New Jersey ask you to carry a caseload of 25 plus clients, chase insurance reimbursements, handle your own billing, and somehow still have energy left to do good clinical work. We built our practice around the opposite of that.
- We handle the administrative load so you can focus on what you actually went to school for.
- We fill your caseload through our own marketing so you’re not scrambling for referrals.
- We pay you a guaranteed hourly rate per session so you’re never waiting on an insurance company to decide what your work is worth.
- We supervise you weekly with someone who has been doing this work for over 20 years and holds AEDP Level 2 and Complex Trauma II training, because good clinical supervision isn’t a checkbox for us. It’s how we make each other better.
Who We're Looking For
We’re looking for a licensed therapist in NJ (LSW, LCSW, LAC, LPC, LMFT, Psy.D/Ph.D all welcome) who practices from a trauma-informed, nervous system-aware lens and is ready to do depth work, not just symptom management.
This is the right fit if you:
- Work somatically and experientially, meaning you track what’s happening in the body, not just the thoughts
- Understand that anxiety, depression, and relationship struggles live in the nervous system, not just in cognitive patterns
- Have training or genuine interest in AEDP, somatic experiencing, EMDR, IFS, sensorimotor psychotherapy, or similar modalities
- Believe the therapeutic relationship is the intervention, not just the container for it
- Want to collaborate with colleagues who actually talk about cases, not just logistics
- Are comfortable bringing your whole self into the room, including warmth, humor, and real presence
This is not the right fit if you:
- Are primarily a CBT or DBttherapist. We respect CBT/DBT’s place in the field, but it is not our primary approach and we want to be honest about that upfront
- Prefer structured protocols over relational attunement
- Are uncomfortable working experientially
Sound like the kind of practice you've been looking for? We'd love to hear from you. Therapist jobs in NJ that actually support the way you want to practice are harder to find than they should be, and we know that.

Our Clinical Foundation
Attachment *Somatic *Relational *Trauma Focused
We didn’t build this practice around a modality because it was trendy. We built it around what we’ve seen actually work after 20 plus years of doing this.
Our approach is somatic and body-based. We track what’s happening in the nervous system, not just thoughts. We work with the whole person, not just the presenting symptoms.
Our approach is attachment-focused. We understand that most of what walks through the door, whether it’s anxiety, relationship struggles, perfectionism, or burnout, has roots in early relational experiences. We work at that level.
Our approach is experiential. We’re not here to help people understand their patterns intellectually. We’re here to help them experience something different in the room, because that’s where lasting change actually happens.
We help our clients uncover what’s keeping them stuck, break free from their past, heal from their pain, and discover their authentic selves. We’re looking for a therapist who wants to be part of that mission.
Our Core Values
These aren’t words on a wall. They’re how we actually run our practice and our team.
Be yourself. We mean this for clients and for the people who work here. We’re not looking for someone who fits a mold.
Stay curious. About your clients, about the work, about yourself. Curiosity is what keeps this work alive.
Lead with kindness. In the therapy room, in team meetings, in how we handle hard conversations.
Authentic connection. With clients and with each other. We’re a team that actually knows each other.
Find the fun. Work hard, play hard. This work is heavy and we take it seriously, and we also know how to laugh.

Frequently Asked Questions About Therapist Jobs at Be Seen Therapy
Do I need AEDP training to apply?
No. Training or genuine interest in AEDP is strongly preferred, but we know that good somatic and experiential therapists come from many different training backgrounds. If you work in a body-based, relational way and are curious about AEDP, we want to hear from you.
What license levels do you accept?
All valid New Jersey clinical licenses are welcome: LSW, LCSW, LAC, LPC, LMFT, and Psy.D/Ph.D. We are an inclusive practice and encourage therapists at all experience levels to apply.
Is this position fully remote?
No. At least one in-person day per week at our Scotch Plains, NJ office is required. The remainder of your caseload can be virtual.
What does supervision look like?
Weekly or biweekly individual supervision (depending on level of licensure) with Robyn Krugman, LCSW, who holds over 20 years of experience and training in AEDP Level 2 and Complex Trauma II. Supervision is built into your schedule, not squeezed in when there’s time. Biweekly staff trainings.
What populations does Be Seen Therapy serve?
We work with adults, adolescents, couples, and families. Our primary client base is high-achieving women navigating anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, and relationship struggles, though our team sees a range of presenting concerns.
How do you handle billing and scheduling?
We handle it. You don’t touch billing or scheduling logistics. Our admin support manages that so your time is spent doing clinical work.
